Waiting for number three...
Greetings all! So how about a house update??? Things are going well generally. We are all settled in now and just when we thought there was nothing else to worry about for a while...the AC broke. Yeah, remember the days at the start of August when it seemed like a million degrees outside? Well, that's when the AC decided that it was not going to work anymore. Apparently we were not the only ones on the street with this problem either. Anyhow, the process took about two weeks but they came and replaced it with a new unit so we were happy with that. And it actually taught us that we could survive without it (although I won't want to).
Then last weekend, Scott noticed the freezer above the fridge was not so cold. The next day we could tell the whole fridge was not working as it should. So we called the warranty people for the Brick and they sent someone to check it out. They said it needed three new parts. And I think to myself...but the thing is only 3 months old! It was new when we bought the house! Anyhow since they tell me the parts would be in the next day I decide to wait for them. But when they didn't come in, and the girl on the phone couldn't tell me when they would be in, I got my "I can be a b-i-t-c-h" face on and told them they should call me before the end of the day with either a time when they would fix it or to just send a replacement. Working in retail and sales has taught me that if you demand it, normally you can get away with just about anything. And funny thing happened...today they delivered my new fridge to replace the broken one. Problem number two solved. And it motivated Scott to clean out and plug in our cube freezer in the garage in the meantime.
So there have been two things that have now gone wrong...and they say these things always come in three's. I am waiting for the last crisis to emerge. But having said that, I think I have to follow up with Rogers. Seems they were supposed to be out to bury the cable line that wasn't done properly during the building process. They said they would take about 8 weeks to get that done....that was about 12 weeks ago....stay tuned!
