Excellent Concert Adventures

Friday July 7, 2006...Road Trip!!!!

My friend Moe and I were quite excited earlier this year to hear that Sammy Hagar would be touring this summer with Michael Anthony. Our excitement soon turned to disappointment when we found out that the tour was not coming to Toronto. As the tour dates were revealed, we learned that the closest the tour was coming was to Darien Lake, near Buffalo.
After some debate, and re-arrangement of previously made travel plans, we got some tickets.
On Friday July 7 we set out on a two and a half hour drive to a great night of Rock 'n Roll!!!

The place was set up with a travelling Cabo Wabo Village...

As you can see from the picture above, there was a Bar. There was also a beach volleyball court set up, with the greatest volleyball match I have ever witnessed!!! It was the girls of Hooters, playing against some girls in bikinis. I have several pictures of this game, but Steph says I shouldn't put those pictures up here.

Drinks were a little expensive, but on a hot summer day, it didn't matter.

As show time approached, we made our way to our seats, Section 201, dead center...

It was a great show. The first half of the show was Sammy with his band the Wabos, doing his solo stuff, older material like I Can't Drive 55, with newer stuff like Sam I Am.

The second half of the show Sammy played Van Halen tunes with Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony. Runnin' With The Devil, Judgement Day, Right Now.

It was a great show! I hope next time he makes it to the Toronto area, so I don't have to drive so far; however, I would not hesitate to do it all again.
