It's Sunday night, and there's nothing on TV.

As I sit here on Sunday evening, I reflect on the week that was and think about the week ahead. Right now life seems to revolve around when the next TV show starts. Pretty sad when you think about it, but that's just the way it goes.

First the week that was...Rockstar Supernova!

This is my guilty pleasure of the moment. Trying so hard to be bad boy rocker, yet so tame and plain, but I can't stop watching.
I grew up a fan of Motley Crue, Metallica and Guns 'n Roses. I loved each one of these bands and have seen all three in concert at one time or another. In fact I saw Guns 'n Roses with Metallica together at the CNE.
I had somewhat high expectations for this band. After watching the show and seeing the "talent" that is auditioning, expectaions quickly fell.
From the start I have said that the show will come down to Delana and Lucas. Not that I like Lucas at all, in fact I think he is actually quite horrible, but for some reason the guys in the band just love him. Delena's stock went down huge last week with her comments, but she can still sing. Watch out for Ryan Starr, or as the ever more annoying each week Dave Navaro calls him, the Dark Horse.

I don't really care for reality shows that much at all, but this one is able to keep my attention.

Next up...Prison Break.

I got hooked big time on this show last season. Fantastic, edge of my seat each week. The new season started last week and picked up right where it left off.

Right now there isn't too much else on that I really care to watch, so I just sit here waiting for these two show to come on this week. My prediction for Rockstar this week, say bye-bye to Storm Large.

Until the new fall season starts, I will just have to be satisfied with these two shows, and of course the greatest show ever to grace a TV screen, on at least 10 times a day, double that on weekends, The Simpsons.

So before I go, and get ready to face another week of work and TV, in the imortal words of Homer J Simpson...

"I want to share something with you - three sentences that will get you through life: Number one, 'Cover for me.' Number two, 'Oh, good idea, boss.' Number three, 'It was like that when I got here."

Ahhh...the vacation!

Greetings all,
You may have wondered where have we been?? It was VACATION TIME!!! My favourite time of the year. We enjoyed some nice weather camping with friends for the August long weekend and then headed to the cottage for the rest of the week.

Camping was at Balsam Lake Provincial Park. We have been there a few times before and really enjoy the park. It has a nice beach and it is a relatively close drive for us. We try to get out camping at least a couple times a year. Other Parks that we like are Bass Lake, a small park near Orillia and The Pinery in Grand Bend. We want to try to visit other parks around Ontario so if you have a favourite, let us know! But no matter where you go, roasting marshmellows over the fire after a day at the beach with good friends or family can't be beat! Here is a cute pic of my friends' daughter telling me that Scott was Mr Tootiepants!! I don't think that's a secret to anyone who knows him :-)

We were a little worried about how the rest of the week would turn out since as of Monday night there was still no hydro at the cottage. After a weekend without hydro at camping you would think that we would be used to it, but at least the provincial parks have running water and bathrooms! My family's cottage is located on Canning Lake near Haliburton and the area was hit by tornadoes the week before - leaving much of the area in the dark for several days. Luckily we got power back the morning of the day we were to go.
So we spent one afternoon geocaching around the area and the rest of the time relaxing. As you can see our cat Alice also got in her share of lounging on the dock. And forget about tea time - margaritas are served frozen in the late afternoon. Follow that by some excellent grilling on the barbeque by Chef Scott and what more could you want?

Of course the only bad part about vacation time? The END!
